Dr Deepak Jadon

Consultant rheumatologist and director of the rheumatology research unit

I am a Consultant in Rheumatology and Director of the Rheumatology Research Unit. I lead the psoriatic arthritis (PsA) service and co-lead the ankylosing spondylitis (AS) service. I co-chair multi-specialty meetings for IBD-spondyloarthritis, psoriasis-spondyloarthritis and the East of England spondyloarthritis MDT.

My current role

My particular expertise are in the care of psoriatic arthritis (PsA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), back pain (acute and chronic) and musculoskeletal ultrasound (to help diagnose / monitor arthritis, and take synovial biopsies for research).

I am the director of the Rheumatology Research Unit, leading a team of research nurses, rheumatology fellows and administrators. The unit is currently performing more than 20 clinical interventional trials and academic studies.

Previous history

I grew up in Cardiff and graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2003. After graduating I undertook specialist training in rheumatology at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath (2008 - 2015) and completed my PhD in rheumatology at the University of Bath (2015). I started as a consultant in Cambridge in 2016.
