Robin Stevens

Patient Governor

Governors

My current role

I was elected as a Patient Governor in July 2023 for a three year term.

An accountant by training but my experience in corporate finance has included advising many companies involved in the provision of healthcare services and products to the public and private healthcare sector in the UK and overseas. I am also currently a non-executive director of an emerging US company developing imaging services for accurate cancer detection and removal for the US, Asian and European markets.

Away from pure healthcare, I am head of capital markets at MHA, the UK member of Baker Tilly International, and I serve as a non-executive director on the boards of 3 public companies in the UK and 1 in Singapore, covering Renewable Energy, the UK Infrastructure Sector and SME financing.

I chose to become a Governor to give back some service to CUH, which has provided exemplary care to my family and I for more than 35 years. I believe I can bring a good blend of first-hand local knowledge of the relevant healthcare issues for the community, a pragmatic approach, plus a developing understanding of the financial and commercial aspects that drive the provision and success of timely and effective healthcare services.

Previous history

Prior to my present roles I was a corporate finance and audit partner at MRI Moores Rowland LLP, Mazars LLP and Crowe UK LLP, working particularly with emerging UK and overseas companies seeking to grow organically and by way of acquisition, and often by raising money from UK Capital markets.

Personal interests

In my spare time I am interested in history, theatre, music, travel and live sport, ideally events covering a permutation of these.
