Dr Mathilde Pauls

Stroke and neurology consultant

I am a consultant specialising in stroke, as well as doing some work in neurology and vascular neurology.

My current role

I am employed by the stroke department, and look after patients who come in acutely with strokes, or are on the hyperacute stroke unit or stroke rehabilitation unit, recovering from their stroke.

I also have a general neurology clinic, and help with stroke research trials, as well as stroke trainee teaching at Addenbrooke's hospital.

Previous history

Before my neurology training, I worked on a trial in small vessel disease as a clinical research fellow at St George's University Hospital, London, while also completing an MD. I then completed my neurology training in Cambridge, Ipswich, Romford, and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Queen Square), as well as UCLH, London, including a specialist stroke training year back at St George's.
