I am a consultant clinical oncologist specialising in the management of tumours of the central nervous system and thyroid tumours.

My current role

I have wide experience in the management of tumours of the central nervous system and thyroid cancers. I have clinical research interests and I am the Principal Investigator for national and international clinical trials.

I am a member of the National Cancer Research Institute Brain Tumour Group. I have also contributed to the development of NICE guidance and I have recently been appointed to chair a guideline committee.

I have an interest in post graduate education for neuro-oncology and I chair the Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission Programme on Training.

I am the Programme Director for the European Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO) Central Nervous System Tumour course.

I also co-chair the East of England Radiotherapy Delivery Network.

Previous history

I trained in medicine at University College Hospital, London and in Clinical Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital.

I carried out clinical research in the role of genetic factors in the development of head and neck cancer and completed a PhD at the Institute of Cancer Research, University of London.
