My current role

I care for patients with all aspects of cutaneous malignancy, elective and emergency upper limb and lower limb trauma, and management of complex wounds within the multidisciplinary setting of a tertiary hospital.

Previous history

I trained within the UK, USA and Ireland in Plastic Surgery and affiliated surgical specialties prior to being appointed to a full time consultant post in Addenbrookes in August 2018, having originally qualified with honours from Medical School in University College Cork, Ireland in 2003.

Following successful completion of six years of Plastic Surgery Higher Surgical training in the East of England Deanery and FRCS Plast examinations, I completed fellowships in microsurgery (breast, sarcoma and melanoma) at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London, Skin Oncology in Norfolk and Norwich and Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in Royal Surrey Guildford.

In addition, following completion Core Surgical Training in Ireland in 2005, I spent 2 year at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, doing research studies in Burns Immunology and was awarded an MD in Immunology, which resulted in a number of publications, presentations and prizes for the work.

Personal interests

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, and my hobbies include horse riding, reading, listening to music and cookery.
