I am a consultant, primarily in Geriatric Medicine but having completed a postgraduate degree (MD) in Syncope, I also look after any aged adults with syncope (blackouts).
Dr Joanna Hampton
Clinical Lead for the Syncope Assessment service,
Co-clinical Lead for the RADAR service,
Co-Director of undergraduate training in Geriatric Medicine,
Theme Lead in team-working for the Professional Responsibilities Course for Cambridge Clinical school,
Consultant physician and consultant geriatrician
My current role
I work on the medical ambulatory care unit in the RADAR and syncope services. I run a 'silver phone line' for the GPs which means GPs can access consultant advice directly which I really enjoy.
I studied at Worcester College in Oxford University and completed an MD at the University of Newcastle.
I enjoyed working abroad for a year in both New Zealand and Australia and have enjoyed moving around the country as a junior doctor, before settling in Cambridge.
When I am not at work, I enjoy being outside with my family.
