My current role
I look after patients with peripheral arterial disease, arterial aneurysms (mainly aortic aneurysms) and carotid disease. I also treat patients with venous disease. I have a special interest in managing patients with thoracic outlet syndrome.
I am the lead for Audit and Governance for vascular surgery. I am an educational and clinical supervisor for Foundation Doctors and Specialist Registrars in Vascular Surgery.
Previous history
I did my undergraduate and early postgraduate studies at the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka. I completed my specialist vascular surgery training in the UK in Cambridge. I started my consultant career as a Lecturer at the University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka, and then as a Consultant in General and Vascular Surgery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn before joining Cambridge University Hospital.
