Sarah Wilcox

Registered genetic counsellor, department of clinical genetics

I work as a registered genetic counsellor at Addenbrooke's hospital.

My current role

I currently hold clinics in Huntingdon and Cambridge, seeing families with prenatal, cancer, endocrine and general genetic issues and I am a registered genetic counsellor.

Previous history

I studied for my bachelors and masters degrees in genetics and genetic medicine at the University of Sheffield. After graduating, I worked in genetic research at the Sanger institute before completing the MSc in genetic counselling at the University of Cardiff.

I spent time working with children and young adults with physical and learning disabilities, through my role as an assistant manager at Mencap, as a respite worker and as a teaching assistant in a special needs school.
