My current role
I lead a research team that investigates ways to improve hearing by cochlear implant (CI) users. We collaborate closely with colleagues in the Emmeline Centre for Hearing Implants where I hold a CUH honorary contract, and attend monthly clinics for CI patients who struggle to hear well through their device.
I have been working with the Emmeline Centre since moving to Cambridge in 1994. Prior to that I was a Royal Society University Research Fellow at the University of Sussex.
Membership and accreditations
I am a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and of Clare Hall, Cambridge, and a member of the British Society of Audiology.
