About the Rosie

The Rosie hospital is part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest and best-known trusts in the country.

The Rosie

It provides maternity and neonatal services to the local population of Cambridgeshire, extending to parts of North Essex, East and North Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Bedfordshire. Specialist services in high risk obstetrics, fetal and maternal medicine and neonatal intensive care are provided for the whole of the eastern region.

It has recently undergone a multi-million pound extension to meet the needs of the region’s growing population. The ‘new’ Rosie includes an expanded birth centre and one of the biggest neonatal units in the UK, and is fully integrated with the existing Rosie hospital to help to ensure the Trust can deliver care in modern facilities that meet the needs of women and their families, providing greater patient choice and further improving patient experience. On 24th May 2013 we were delighted and proud to welcome Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, to officially open the new Rosie hospital.

How you can help the Rosie deliver the future

The Rosie is very lucky to have the support of the charity Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT).

The ACT raises funds to make a difference for patients at Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals. Kind support from fundraisers and donors enables us to achieve some things sooner than otherwise possible and to offer a level of care beyond that available through the NHS alone. Charitable funds have helped to expand the Rosie, buy state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care equipment and provide additional everyday items like breast pumps.

There are many ways that you can help. You could make a donation to the hospital in general or to a ward, clinic or department of your choice, you could organise your own fundraising activity or even devote a little bit of spare time as a volunteer.
