If you have not done so already, please contact the relevant cochlear implant manufacture. They can also offer community mentor support to be connected to people with lived experience of cochlear implants who can share their experiences with you and offer support and advice on getting to know your cochlear implant equipment before activation.

Safety Information for your Device
The British Cochlear Implant Group (BCIG) issue company specific safety guidelines regarding what you can and cannot do with a cochlear implant. They publish information regarding recommended precautions for activities such as MRI scans, x-rays, playing contact sports, air travel, dentistry, hairdresser appointments, magnetic field exposure, etc.
