Andi Thornton
Staff Governor

Andi Thornton was elected as Staff Governor in June 2017. Following the 2015 Care Quality Commission inspection he felt inspired to help support staff on the next leg of the journey to outstanding. This was especially the case after seeing all the great work that so many different members of staff have been involved in.

Andi is an advocate for expressing ideas and feels that unless you get involved it is difficult to effect change. Therefore, if you have views or ideas you think you can bring to the Trust, he strongly encourages such action. Having worked in the Trust for the past 20 years and currently in post as Outpatient Services Operations Manager for the last two, Andi has maintained a passion for staff development, openness and transparency across the organisation. He hopes to foster this over his term as a governor.

The desire to give something back to the organisation was a driving force for Andi to stand for election, and as a Staff Governor he now hopes to represent staff at all levels through challenging times, discussing their concerns and ideas. In regards to an improved service for patients he would like to see a better use of technology to improve both the patient experience and operational efficiencies.
