I joined the CPPG as I feel it is my way of giving back my thanks to the NHS and Addenbrooke’s Hospital for saving my life. I try to attend all the meetings, but my body and hospital visits sometimes prevent this. I was diagnosed with HGSOC (High-grade serous ovarian carcinoma) stage 3 in September 2019, and thankfully I’m still here fighting the good fight. I am currently on a trial for ovarian carcinoma and I joined it to help the women of the future, and to hopefully help promote education on ovarian carcinoma. Before my diagnosis, I was in the hospitality industry, running a hotel while doing 24 twelve hour on call shifts a month on the ambulance, and driving a taxi on my day off. To go from running my life at 100 miles an hour to zero has been a battle, but hopefully my input to CPPG and understanding the vital work it does will help make up for it.
