Your stay in hospital

If you have had a long or difficult labour or birth or a caesarean section you may need to stay in hospital until you and your baby have recovered sufficiently to go home.

This is usually around 24 hours after the birth. It is very important to make sure that the ward staff know where you are staying when you leave the Rosie, particularly if it is not your home address and telephone number. Telling us of any change of address or change of GP helps us to ensure you get the postnatal care you need.
