Dr Donna McShane

My current role

I work within the department of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine with special expertise in the management of children and young people with cystic fibrosis (CF). I led the East of England CF Network for 15 years, before stepping down in 2024 to become the Clinical Director for Paediatrics in Addenbrooke's, a post I still hold.

I also have expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of children and young people exposed to Tuberculosis and other related infections. I work closely with colleagues across the region to ensure children and their families have access to an integrated and holistic approach for their medical and mental health conditions.

Previous history

I graduated from Edinburgh Medical School in 1991. My paediatric respiratory training was at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London which also included a period of research within the National Heart & Lung Institute.
