My current role
As a Lecturer Practitioner within the CUH Academy, I support the design, delivery and evaluation of educational programmes that enhance workforce capability and professional development across healthcare settings. My role focuses on creating innovative, evidence-informed learning experiences, supporting learners and educators, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality education that improves both learner outcomes and patient care.
I have extensive experience in curriculum and programme design, ensuring educational provision aligns with professional standards, organisational priorities and the evolving needs of the healthcare workforce.
Alongside my educational expertise, I bring significant leadership experience.
Previous history
I joined CUH shortly after qualifying as a Registered Nurse in Italy in 2015. I began my career on a surgical ward before moving into critical care, where I worked for nine years. During this time, I developed a strong interest in education, professional development and leadership, which led to my appointment as Critical Care Practice Development Senior Sister.
In this role, I worked closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to enhance learning opportunities, develop workforce capability and foster a positive learning culture. I gained extensive experience in educational leadership, curriculum design and the development of programmes that support learner progression, professional growth and service improvement.
Alongside my clinical and leadership responsibilities, I completed an MSc in Medical and Healthcare Education, further developing my expertise in educational theory, curriculum development and evidence-informed teaching practice. I also completed specialist training in simulation-based learning and I am a Resuscitation Council UK Immediate Life Support Instructor.
I have presented educational work nationally at the Royal College of Nursing Education Conference and the British Association of Critical Care Nurses Conference, sharing innovative approaches to workforce development and healthcare support worker education.
Through collaboration with a charitable organisation, I contributed to the delivery of educational programmes for healthcare professionals in a low- and middle-income country, an experience that strengthened my interest in global health education and international collaboration.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to compassionate and inclusive education, recognising and valuing the diversity of learners and their unique experiences. I am passionate about continuous learning and improvement and will shortly be commencing training as a Professional Nurse Advocate to further support staff wellbeing, professional development and reflective practice.
