Fit-to-fly certification required by an airline is not part of routine NHS care and is not a service provided by the Rosie Hospital.
If you are pregnant and planning to fly, you should check your airline's requirements carefully before travelling, as these vary between airlines. If your airline requires formal fit-to-fly certification, you will need to arrange this independently through an appropriate private provider.
Please do not automatically approach your GP for a fit-to-fly certificate, as this certification is not part of the routine NHS GP contract and individual practices may not provide it.
What does this mean for me?
Your Rosie maternity team will continue to provide your usual pregnancy care and can discuss any clinical concerns about your pregnancy or planned travel. This is separate from providing a certificate for the administrative requirements of an airline.
