Non-urgent advice: Changes to food and drink outlets
We are improving the food and drink offer in our Concourse to create a wider range of options for patients, visitors and staff.
Following feedback, we are introducing new food outlets with greater choice, healthier options and new services, including digital ordering where available. The changes are being introduced in phases, which means some outlets will close temporarily while improvement works take place
Upcoming changes
- Burger King closes Sunday 16 August
- Tortilla (opening soon)
- Starbucks (closing soon)
- Peabody’s Coffee opens in November
- Potato & Co opens in January 2027
Food and drink options will continue to be available across the hospital throughout these changes. Signage will help direct patients, visitors and staff to alternative outlets where needed.

Free NHS Wi-Fi
When in our hospitals, you can connect to ‘NHS Wi-Fi’ from your chosen personal device (e.g. smartphone, tablet, laptop) to access the internet using our free patient and visitor Wi-Fi service.
Non-urgent advice: Reusable only on Wednesday
Every Wednesday, Starbucks, Costa Pod and Wellspring Café, switch to reusable by default.
You can:
- Bring your own clean reusable mug or food container, or
- Borrow a Cauli reusable cup or container
If you borrow a Cauli item, a £1 holding fee will be charged to your debit or credit card. This is automatically refunded when you return it to one of the yellow kiosks in the food court.
Not sure how it works? Just ask a member of staff, they’ll be happy to help.
Every day, thousands of single-use cups and containers are thrown away.
Reusable Wednesdays make it easy to reduce waste and support a more sustainable hospital.
