National Apprenticeship Week is a week-long celebration of apprenticeships. Here at CUH, the week brings together apprentices to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to staff and patients at our hospital.

Heather Danes - operational departmental manager

Heather currently works as a Band 7 Service Manager in digestive diseases.

Bryony Wright - health and care academy co-ordinator

Bryony currently works in the work opportunities team at Cambridge University Hospitals.

Ishraga Ibrahim - laboratory technician

Ishraga started her Laboratory Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship in February 2020.

Lucie Clift - physiotherapist

Lucie started her Physiotherapy Apprenticeship in September 2021 and currently works with the Medical Physiotherapy Team working mainly on wards C5 and D7.

Josh Tierney - digital marketing

Josh currently works in the digital communications team which is part of the PR and communications department at the Trust.

Davinia McAlinden - occupational therapy degree apprentice

Davinia is currently working as an occupational therapy assistant within stroke and rehabilitation at Cambridge University Hospitals.

Chris Bridgeman - healthcare science practitioner

Chris currently works in the specialist haemostasis laboratory as a trainee biomedical scientist.

Mabel McGinley - customer service practitioner

Mabel started her apprenticeship in nephrology during which time she progressed into a Band 3 Support medical secretary role in hepatology.

Lucy Carlton - exercise and fitness

Lucy completed her Exercise and Fitness Level 2 Apprenticeship last year at the Trust’s onsite Frank Lee Leisure and Fitness Centre.

Lucy Horobin - mammography associate

Lucy currently works in The Cambridge Breast Unit where she has been studying a level 4 apprenticeship in mammography.
