Caroline braves the shave for Macmillan

16 February 2018
Caroline Abbott, a radiographic department assistant in the Breast Unit at Cambridge University Hospitals, has “braved the shave” to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in support of her aunt who has bowel cancer.

Caroline’s children, Faith and Elijah, made the initial cut of her plaits before the head shave was completed by her colleague Heather Couzens, the administrative manager in the Breast Unit.

The Little Princess Charity will make wigs out of Caroline long locks.

The Breast Unit are extremely grateful for the support of Macmillan, who provide financial and educational support for two radiographers undergoing training for advanced practice.

Mary Hunt, superintendent radiographer at the Breast Unit, said: “We are extremely proud of Caroline and we all think she looks amazing!

“Macmillan is a charity that is close to everyone’s heart in the Breast Unit as they are great supporters of ours, providing financial and educational support for two radiographers undergoing training for advanced practice.”
