About membership

Foundation Trusts are membership organisations. There is no better way to get involved with, and contribute to the Trust. And it's completely free.

Foundation Trusts are membership organisations. There is no better way to get involved with, and contribute to the Trust. And it's
completely free.

As a member, you'll receive regular information, keeping you in touch with the latest development in the hospitals. You may be consulted about significant changes or new services.
And you'll be able to vote for our governors, or even stand as a governor yourself.

Our membership community numbers just over 19,000 and is divided into three groups:

  • Patient - for patients and carers
  • Public - for people who live in our public membership area
  • Staff - automatic membership for eligible staff, opt out available

The following staff groups are automatically enrolled as staff members:

  • Individuals with a permanent or fixed term (minimum length 12 months) contract of employment with the Trust.
  • Individuals with a fixed term contract of employment and have been employed for at least 12 months continuously by the Trust.
  • Official Trust Volunteers. Volunteers supporting the Trust through another organisation are not automatically staff members.

Individuals who are providing services to the Trust may apply for membership of the staff constituency by emailing foundation@addenbrookes.nhs.uk

Please consider joining us - it is your opportunity to have a say in how the hospital is run. You can opt out of membership at any time by emailing foundation@addenbrookes.nhs.uk
