Nuala Healy
Consultant Radiologist


Dr Nuala Healy joined the Cambridge Breast unit in 2017 as a clinical fellow and was appointed as a consultant radiologist in January 2018. She has speciality interests in breast and oncology imaging. She completed her undergraduate medical training at the National University of Ireland, Galway Ireland. There she undertook a lab-based MD investigating the role of miRNAs in breast cancer, and subsequently a Masters in Clinical Education. She completed her radiology training at St. James’ Hospital, Dublin and a breast fellowship at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin, Ireland.

Nuala is committed to providing excellent patient care and plays a role in both the screening and symptomatic breast services at the Cambridge Breast Unit.  Additionally, Nuala supports and participates in the teaching of medical students, registrars and fellows. She has supplied examination questions for the European Diploma of Radiology.

Nuala has published many peer reviewed articles on breast cancer and imaging. She has presented her research both nationally and internationally and acts a reviewer for a number of peer reviewed journals. She is actively involved in performing audits in the Cambridge Breast Unit to improve service delivery and standards within the screening and symptomatic breast services.
