Cambridge Eye Research Centre

The Department of Ophthalmology at CUH hosts some of the world’s leading clinician-scientists with expertise in a variety of subspecialty areas of Ophthalmology that includes glaucoma, corneal, retinal, neuro-ophthalmology, mitochondrial diseases, uveitis, ophthalmic epidemiology and paediatric ophthalmology.

By integrating clinical research into eye care in our hospital we continue to improve outcomes for our patients. For example, some of our research involves new medications and new technologies to diagnose, monitor and treat eye disease. Our research staff are from a full range of disciplines: ophthalmologists, optometrists, orthoptists and nursing staff. We work closely with the National Institute for Health Research, the research arm of the NHS on many studies, many of which are international in scope.

UPDATE: For principal investigators of studies involving ophthalmology assessments
