About us

Lady Mary Ward is a 26 bedded postnatal ward caring for families from the birth of their baby until discharge home. The ward is staffed by midwives, maternity support workers, nursery nurses, ward clerks and domestic staff and supported by obstetric and paediatric doctors, physiotherapists, hearing screeners and other specialist staff as required. Cambridge University Hospital is a training hospital and there will be student midwives and doctors looking forward to participating in your care.

We aim to discharge families home as soon as it is appropriate to do so and work hard to ensure this is as timely as possible. Some families may require a longer stay in order to meet the needs of the birthing person or baby but most stays are just one or two nights before discharge to community services.

Additional information

The Rosie is a research hospital and you may be asked about your willingness to participate in any ongoing studies that may be underway at any time. Involvement is entirely voluntary and will not impact on other care offered.
