How to use the Aerochamber plus with the tidal breathing method - in a child or young adult

  1. Remove the cap from the inhaler.
  2. Remove the cap from the Aerochamber.
  3. Shake inhaler and insert into the Aerochamber.
  4. Place the mouthpiece in the child’s mouth.
  5. Encourage your child to breathe in and out gently through the mouthpiece.
  6. Once breathing pattern is well established, press the inhaler as the child continues to breathe in and out slowly (tidal breathing) five more times.
  7. If you hear a musical sound, the child is breathing in too hard or fast.
  8. Remove the mouthpiece from the child’s mouth and let them breathe normally.
  9. For further dose of the medication, repeat.
  10. Replace the caps on the inhaler and Aerochamber.
