Our services

The East Anglian Medical Genetics Service comprises the genetics laboratories (molecular genetics and cytogenetics) and clinical genetics and together they: Diagnose genetic disorders - in the clinic and using lab tests, counsel individuals and families - for example offering risk assessments for patients who have a family history of an inherited disorder or familial cancer syndrome, research the causes of birth defects and genetic diseases, educate health care professionals about genetics. The service is provided by an integrated team of doctors, genetic counsellors and laboratory scientists, who are supported by secretarial and administrative staff.
