Covid-19 statement

Following a continuing rise in the number of seriously unwell Covid-19 patients being admitted to our hospitals, Cambridge University Hospitals Trust has taken the difficult decision to reschedule non-emergency surgery and some outpatient appointments.

At Cleft Net East we anticipate that our service will be disrupted for the next few weeks, and will continue to respond to the rapidly changing situation. Please understand that the safety of our patients, their families and our staff is our priority.

Patients who have been affected will be contacted by the team. In outpatients, we have taken the decision to offer virtual and telephone appointments as the default and some face-to-face appointments will be rescheduled.

We understand that changes and delays in treatment may be distressing for all involved. Whilst our service is not able to run as normal, we are still here to support you however we can.

Previous experience in restarting the service following the initial wave of the pandemic has shown the team to be highly responsive and flexible around our patient’s needs.  We have developed solid processes to ensure that when the time comes we are able to act efficiently and ensure that care is provided where most needed.

Should you have any questions or need advice during this time please do not hesitate to contact us via email or, if this is not possible, please telephone 01223 596272.

Further information and support can be found via the CLAPA charity website.
