Our uro-neurology team provide specialist care for people with bladder, bowel or sexual difficulties which are caused by a neurological condition.

This can include patients with multiple sclerosis, stroke, Huntington’s disease and Parkinson’s disease who might be experiencing continence issues, bladder problems or sexual dysfunction.

Most patients are referred to the clinic by the consultant who is leading their care or a specialist nurse. Our multi-disciplinary team will discuss any issues before exploring the options for managing those problems. This can include showing you how to insert a catheter to help with continence issues or injecting botulinum toxin type A , otherwise known as Botox, to help control the muscle wall.

The main goal of our uro-neurology team is to help patients to manage any complaints effectively to minimise the impact they have on everyday life.
