Listening and engaging with patients and families

Update: February 2026

We want the voice of patients and families to shape the improvements we are delivering to our services.

These improvements are detailed in our action plan which we published alongside Verita’s independent investigation report. The report looked into missed opportunities to have identified and addressed issues arising from the practice of Ms Kuldeep Stohr, a trauma and orthopaedic consultant who specialises in treating children, sooner.

If you’re a patient or the parent/guardian of a patient and have not had the opportunity to share your feedback, please find details below of how to make your voice heard and share your experiences.

Verita action plan progress update

We will be holding a session to share with patients and families a clear update on progress made in the first three months following the publication of the Verita report, answer any questions and to listen to feedback. This session will be with our Chief Executive, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nurse on:

  • Thursday 5th March at 6pm – online

To join this session, please email our team: cuh.communications@nhs.net

Patient Advisory Board

We made a commitment in our action plan to establishing a Patient Advisory Board (PAB) with patients and families. Following a workshop held in January 2026 which brought together patients and families, Healthwatch and partner organisations, an adult Patient Advisory Board chaired by a parent has been established.

The advisory board hold their first online meeting on the 28th February 2026 10am.

If you wish to join the Board or want to find out more, please contact the Patient and Family Liaison team: cuh.familyliaison@nhs.net

We want to thank patients and families who have taken the time to share their feedback and experiences with us. We have made some changes directly because of this feedback.

You said. We listened. We acted.

Read more about what patients and families have told us about their experiences, what we have heard and the changes we are making.

We remain committed to listening, learning, and improving. Your insights will help the Trust better understand the impact of the review on patients and families. With your consent, and with any information we receive anonymised, your experiences will ensure learning and action are guided by you.
