Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is holding a series of independent listening events for patients and families affected by the care provided by Ms. Stohr, a trauma and orthopaedic consultant who specialises in treating children at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
We have asked Olovus, an independent patient engagement organisation, to run these events. The goal is to provide a safe, private space for you to share your experiences with independent experts. This is a separate process from the clinical review and Verita investigation already underway.
Dates and times
The first events will take place in person on Tuesday 30th September from 10.30am until 2.45pm.
This will be followed by an evening online session on Tuesday 7th October from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
What to expect at the events
The events in the autumn will offer a supportive environment where you can:
- Share your experiences with people who will listen
- Receive updates on the review process
- Help us understand what is important to you and how we should communicate with you in the future
The Olovus team will take a trauma-sensitive approach, provide choice, emotional support, and anonymity where needed.
They are dedicated to ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard, including children, young people, families, and other underrepresented groups.
How to participate
To register for an event, or to simply register your interest to keep informed about future involvement opportunities please:
If you need help to complete this form you can telephone Olovus on 0191 535 5881 and leave a message. They will contact you and take you through the registration process.
Non-urgent advice: Important Note:
To make sure you feel comfortable speaking openly, no Trust staff will be present at these sessions.
Alongside the listening events, we will be establishing a Patient Advisory Group (and a Young People’s Advisory Group).
These groups will help make sure that the voices of patients and families help to shape orthopaedic services in the future.
