In 2024, we commissioned an external review into three groups of paediatric orthopaedic cases performed by Ms Kuldeep Stohr at the Trust after concerns were raised about the outcomes of some procedures
The groups of procedures were:
- 24 cases of development dysplasia of the hip
- 22 cases of major hip surgery in patients with cerebral palsy
- 13 cases of soft tissue surgery in patients with cerebral palsy
This review was undertaken by the National Clinical Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedics, Mr James Hunter. He provided the Trust with his report in May 2025, alongside a copy of his summarised findings with patient identifiable data removed for publication.
The families of patients whose cases were reviewed have been informed of this report and the findings into their individual cases.
The report can be found below.
