Thrombosis treatment team

Our services A-Z

A team of specialist nurses who provide a fast track deep vein thrombosis (DVT) assessment service. We also run a clinic for fast warfarin loading in an outpatient setting.

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Assessment Service

We are a small team of thrombosis nurses who provide an ambulatory, fast track service for the diagnosis and management of DVT. GPs can refer patients’ fast track for suspected DVT assessment.

We provide information and anticoagulant advice and facilitate the early discharge of patients with DVT, pulmonary embolism (PE) and certain other conditions that require fast warfarin loading in an outpatient setting.

We are a hospital-based education resource for patients, staff and primary care services.

Referrals

Patients who are worried about leg symptoms should first seek advice from their general practitioner (GP) who can refer fast track to the thrombosis treatment team for DVT assessment.

If for any reason you cannot be seen by your GP you should call 111 for advice.
