My name is Libby Eagles and I am a senior therapeutic radiographer within the radiotherapy department at CUH.
How long have you worked at CUH?
I have worked at CUH for almost 5 and a half years, since July 2020.
What part of your work are you particularly proud of or find rewarding?
Making a difference in patients' lives, radiotherapy can help cure cancer and reduce symptoms for patient, improving their quality of life and reducing any pain or discomfort they may have been experiencing.
How does your team make a difference for patients or families?
Our team is a constant presence for patients having up to 6.5 weeks worth of radiotherapy treatment. We offer support and reassurance for patients and families daily during their cancer treatment, ensuring that they feel safe and understood during a frightening time.
What is something you’d like people to understand about your role?
That radiotherapy is a combination of technical skills as well as compassionate care. Every patient has a personalised treatment plan, which we deliver daily with accuracy.
What’s one thing you enjoy outside of work?
When I'm not working, I enjoy playing padel tennis.
