Eunice Morada

Staff Governor

My current role

I was elected as a Staff Governor representing nurses in July 2025. I currently work as a specialist support nurse in the Trauma and Orthopaedics department at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, I deliver expert, patient-centred care across the trauma and elective orthopaedic pathway, supporting junior staff, doctors, and the wider multidisciplinary team from admission to discharge.

I am deeply committed to the four pillars of advanced nursing practice—clinical care, education, leadership, and research. I am preparing to undertake a postgraduate degree in Clinical Nursing to enhance my contribution to service improvement, quality outcomes, and evidence-based care.

As a Staff Governor, my mission is to ensure the specialist nurse voice is heard at Board level and to champion the nursing community—especially my fellow internationally trained colleagues. I believe in equity, visibility, and career progression for all regardless of background.

Previous history

I began my nursing journey in the Philippines, graduating with Latin Honours and a Clinical Award of Excellence. I trained and practised at St. Luke’s Medical Centre Global City, one of the most prestigious hospitals in Asia, where I managed a wide range of medical, surgical, and orthopaedic cases.

I later became a registered nurse in both the United Kingdom and in New York, USA. Since moving to the UK in 2017, I have worked in the Trauma and Orthopaedics Department as a bedside staff progressing into my current Specialist Nurse role in Trauma and Orthopaedics. My practice is grounded in clinical leadership, holistic assessment, collaborative working, and continuous service improvement.

My decision to run for Staff Governor was driven by a commitment to represent my colleagues, promote culturally inclusive leadership, and contribute to the Trust’s future with a global and frontline-informed perspective.

Personal interests

I am a proud wife and mother of two, and I love spending time with my family—especially travelling and exploring new cultures together. I have a strong passion for the arts, particularly drawing, and enjoy teaching and creating with my children.

I’m also a sports enthusiast and have played badminton and volleyball since primary school. Staying active has always been a big part of my life and helps me stay focused and energised. I enjoy socialising with friends, building community, and sharing ideas over good conversations.

As a governor, I bring not only my clinical and leadership experience, but also my values—family, sense of community, creativity, inclusion, and wellbeing—which I hope to reflect in everything I do at CUH.
