My current role
I’m delighted to have been elected as a Public Governor in July 2025, serving a three-year term.
With a deep personal connection to the Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) — all three of my children were born at the Rosie and my partner worked in the A&E department for many years. CUH has supported my family through some of life’s most significant moments, and that’s a big part of why I chose to stand as a Governor.
I want to give something back by helping the Trust continue to provide high-quality, reliable healthcare that’s free and accessible to everyone in our community.
Previous history
I began my career in Clinical Pathology at the Royal Cornwall Hospital before moving into the private healthcare sector. Most recently, I served as Group Operations Director for an international healthcare company, gaining extensive board-level leadership and operational management experience.
My background in science and computing has also helped me navigate the rapid digital transformation taking place across healthcare.
I hope these skills will contribute meaningfully to my role as a Governor and to the Trust’s ongoing development.
Personal interests
I am proud to have co-founded a small charity that restored a 75-year-old national historic ship. We later gifted the vessel to the Prince's Charities to ensure its long-term preservation.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and enjoy exploring the UK and Europe in our campervan. I also take pleasure in learning to make and repair things using my basic woodworking, metalworking and 3D printing abilities.
