Sawston Medical Practice – permanent off-site CT scanner
Our CT department has a scanner, which is staffed by a CUH team, at Sawston Medical Practice. There is free parking just outside the scanner, or alternatively there is a nearby bus stop. There is also a toilet available next to the CT unit.

Mobility issues
Unfortunately, we do not have a hoist at this location, so we do advise patients with mobility issues not to attend.
It is also not suitable for patients coming via hospital transport, as we do not have a suitable waiting area to care for patients in wheelchairs / stretchers.

MRI
MRI Mobile Scanners (MAG6 and MAG20)




We have two on-site mobile MRI scanners located just outside of our main department MRIS at Addenbrookes.
These are both located on Robinson Way in-between the entrance to the Rosie and the entrance to MRIS.
Mag 6 is staffed by the CUH team, Mag 20 is staffed by the private company DHC, who perform the scans to CUH protocols and report the scans to the teams at our hospital.
Waiting room
The waiting room for both scanners is in the MRIS unit.
Please report to the reception where our staff will let you know which scanner you will be scanned on.

7am – 8pm, 7 days a week.

Hinchingbrooke - MRI Mobile Scanner

We also have a mobile scanner located at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. This unit is staffed by the private company Alliance who perform the scans to CUH protocols and report the scans to the teams at our hospital. It is identical to Mag 20 which is based at the Addenbrookes site.

This scanner operates 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Patients with referrals from Addenbrookes are currently scanned on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.
