We care for children and young people up to 16 years of age who are having surgery. Our service is based on Ward F3, which is on Level 3 and can be reached using the main lifts.
What is POAC?
POAC stands for Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic.
Before your child has surgery, they will attend a pre-operative assessment. This appointment helps make sure your child is ready and safe for their operation, hospital stay, and going home afterwards.
If your child is having an operation with a general anaesthetic, they need to be checked to make sure they are fit for surgery.
Our POAC clinic sees children and young people up to 16 years old and is located on Ward F3.
