The Teenagers and Young Adults (TYA) service

About cancer services

The Teenagers and Young Adults (TYA) service is a multidisciplinary team which supports young people aged between 13 and 24 years inclusive who have a cancer diagnosis.

We recognise that you have different needs and priorities to other older or younger patients and the focus of care is using a holistic approach to promote positive coping and adjustment at this key developmental stage in your life. Based in Cambridge, our remit is region wide, supporting young people throughout East Anglia wherever they are treated. We have a TYA Cancer Support Service based at The Oasis, and a Teenage Cancer Trust Unit on Ward C9, which includes a day unit and 8 inpatient beds, comprising 5 side rooms and a 3-bedded bay.
