In May 2022, the Cancer Directorate was awarded CHKS Accreditation.
CHKS (or the Caspe Healthcare Knowledge System) combines the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 with their own core standards, which cover the principles of healthcare delivery, including leadership, governance, and effective management; health, safety and risk; patient-centred care; quality improvement; staff development; and facilities and equipment. This comprehensive health and social care assurance and accreditation service aims to improve patient care. Additional discipline-specific standards are also applied to accredit specialties and provide reassurance to staff and patients that our practices and standards of care are aligned with other key cancer centres both nationally and internationally.
The specific standards we are accredited against include:
- Cancer Services
- Chemotherapy Service
- Teenage and Young People's Cancer Service
- Radiotherapy Service
