Sarah Cawood - Paediatric Trauma and Rehabilitation Coordinator

Sarah talks us through her amazing career as an AHP and has some words of advice if you want to become an AHP.

Tell us a bit about your CUH journey – when did you join, what positions have you held here?

I joined the Addenbrookes physiotherapy team in April 2019 after having completed my masters in Paediatrics and Cardiorespiratory. I started off on the DME team, followed by a rotation on the Surgical team and then got a Specialist Respiratory Rotational post in October 2019. During my time in that post, I spent time on NCCU, JVF (ICU), neuro and paeds. Several months were spent on the units working alongside the periods COVID team. In November 2021, I started in my current role as the Paeds Trauma Coordinator.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I absolutely love my role, it is extremely rewarding, I get to work with so many different teams and no day is the same.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting their AHP career journey?

Never stop learning. Build on a good foundation.
