March's You Made A Difference team award goes to the diabetes dietetic team.
The diabetes dietetic team is March’s team winner - a team of 19 dietitians who cover diabetes, adult metabolics, obesity, cardiology and endocrinology.
Over many years, and with the appropriate training from the diabetes department, the team is now able to take on added responsibilities, making the service more efficient and also allows them to provide holistic care to patients.
Pulling together, providing support for one another, and regularly going above and beyond what is expected, is nothing new for this fantastic bunch of people.

During Covid, the diabetes dietetic team has been incredibly supportive to the diabetes nursing team, taking on added responsibilities. The nurses and dietitians have always had an excellent working relationship, but their professionalism and dedication during this difficult time has been incredible.
The team has faced several challenges, all done willingly without moaning, despite the added stress and pressure I am sure it has caused them. As a team leader, Sara Hartnell leads by example and has been involved in all aspects of ‘hands on’ clinical care, never expecting her team to do anything that she herself is not prepared to do.
