Professor Rosalind Smyth has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH), which runs Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie Hospitals.

Rosalind is Vice Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Population Health Sciences and Honorary Consultant Respiratory Paediatrician at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Prior to that she held the role of Director of the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health from 2021-22 and also served as Non-Executive Director of Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and, until July 2025, was a Governor of The Health Foundation.
Rosalind is Vice President (Clinical) of the UK's Academy of Medical Sciences from 2023-2027. She is chair of the MRC's Training and Careers Group and Trustee of the Medical Research Foundation and The Lister Institute. She is a member of the Board and Scientific Advisory Group of the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Diseases Research, Bangladesh.
She was awarded CBE in the Queen's New Year's Honours 2015, for services to the regulation of medicines for children. She graduated in medicine from Clare College, Cambridge and University of London and trained in paediatrics in London, Cambridge and Liverpool.

Rosalind has been appointed to a three-year term of office by the CUH Council of Governors following a competitive recruitment process. She takes up the position on 8 September 2025.
