The neurophysiology team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital is one of only three in the country to gain national accreditation from UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service.)

The clinical neurophysiology team includes healthcare scientists and doctors who provide tests for conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord or nerves, helping to diagnose and monitor conditions.
As well as providing an outpatient service including specialist tests for monitoring seizes and epilepsy, the team will also monitor the brain and spinal cord for inpatients during neurosurgery and orthopaedic spinal surgery.
The team passed their first IQIPS (Improving Quality in Physiological Sciences) UKAS accreditation. The scheme aims to improve the quality of service, care and safety for patients having physiological tests, examinations and procedures. It is supported by NHS England, the Royal College of Physicians and recognised by the Care Quality Commission.
This is a fantastic achievement for the neurophysiology team. They are one of only three neurophysiology departments in the country to be accredited. This really does showcase what a quality service they provide for patients. Well done to them all.
