Outpatients and Follow-up

Neonatal clinics

If your baby has been admitted to the Neonatal Unit, who was born less than 34 weeks gestation, It is likely that they will be followed up in an outpatient clinic. This may either be in the Child Developmental Centre (situated on Level 1 of the Rosie Hospital) or the Paediatric Outpatient Department (clinic 6, Addenbrooke’s Hospital). These appointments will be in addition to your usual health visitor milestone checks and aim to check your child’s development and address any other medical issues relating to your babies stay on the Neonatal Unit. If your baby has required surgery then they may be seen by the paediatric surgical team. If there are problems which we feel would benefit from a specialist opinion we will refer your baby to one of the paediatric specialty teams.

Birth Afterthoughts

When you have just left hospital with your new baby you may have lots of questions you want to ask about your experience of giving birth.

Birth Afterthoughts is a confidential service run by the Rosie midwives aimed at giving you the opportunity to discuss and understand what happened at the birth of your baby.

Both parents can come along and it does not matter how long ago your baby was born.

Call 01223 217 882 to arrange a time to come and talk. Please leave a message and a midwife will call you back.
