Did you know that around one in 10 women aged 50–70 have very dense breasts? This increases their risk of breast cancer and makes it harder to detect with standard screening.
Join Dr Fiona Gilbert, who led the BRAID study involving over 9,000 women with dense breasts. Thanks to this groundbreaking research, 85 women were diagnosed early with breast cancer.
Dr Gilbert will discuss what it means to have dense breasts, the results of the trial and how to reduce your breast cancer risk.
You'll also hear from Louise Duffield, a CUH patient who was diagnosed early through the study.
