Dr Ruth Armstrong undertook her undergraduate and post graduate training in Liverpool. Her postgraduate training was in paediatrics and clinical genetics.

Special interests

Dr Armstrong’s specialist interests include genetic conditions that predispose to cancer in both children and adults. Dr Armstrong works closely with Dr Paterson, Dr Tischkowitz and a team of Genetic Counsellors to provide and develop the Cancer Genetics Service for East Anglia.

General clinics

She runs a monthly genetics clinic for children and adults and a monthly cancer genetics clinic at Addenbrookes Hospital.  Dr Armstrong also holds two general clinics per month at Lowestoft Hospital for children, adults and prenatal cases from Lowestoft and the Great Yarmouth area.  

Specialist clinics

Dr Armstrong and a Genetic Counsellor run a paediatric cancer genetics clinic each month at Addenbrookes Hospital for children affected by cancer and their families.
