Ward D6 - Haematology and Neurology

On ward D6 we care for people undergoing investigations and treatment of disorders affecting the blood or bone marrow. The ward is shared with neurosciences.

Visiting times

11:00 - 20:00

Up to two visitors only are allowed at each bedside at any time. Children may visit at the discretion of the nurse in charge and must be strictly supervised by a parent or guardian.

No flowers allowed.

Please be aware that visitors may be asked to leave at any time to enable important care to be delivered.

About the ward: 

The ward is divided into two and shared with neurology

The haematology half of the ward has 11 beds: four single rooms with toilets, one two-bedded bay and one five-bedded bay.



Finding us: 

Ward D6 can be found on level 6 of the C and D block of the hospital.

From the main hospital entrance: 

From the main hospital entrance: through the main entrance turn right and head towards the concourse and then turn left. Walk past the hairdressers. You will see sign posts for C and D wards. Take the lift to level 6.Turn left out of the lift and the ward is on your right hand side. The nurses’ station is in the middle of the ward.

For security, there is an intercom at the ward door.

If you are visiting a patient who is likely to be hospitalised for two weeks or more, you can get a discounted parking ticket from the main reception. This allows you to exit from the car parks for 14 consecutive days from the day you validate the ticket.
