Research Nursing means that your day is exciting, challenging and always different.  Research is central to the identity of CUH to make patient care better for all. It is a growing, dynamic and revolutionary area of healthcare. Good quality research is essential in creating advances in patient care.

You could be working independently or as part of a team to deliver research that will benefit patients and staff alike. Research Nurses visit patients for studies in a multitude of locations throughout the Trust: in clinics, Accident and Emergency department, on the ward, in theatre or even at the patient’s home. Each day is different and so good communication and time management skills are essential to the role.

You could be working with children, adults and adults lacking capacity. Research Nurses also could work on more than one study, so your work can be varied and stimulating.

We have induction days to assist you in developing your career as a Specialist Research Nurse. There are many learning opportunities and supports available to progress in your career and ensure that patients get the best possible care.

If you want to work in a cutting edge area of health care then the exciting and challenging career of a Research Nurse could be for you!
