My current role
I work within the Gastroenterology and Transplant departments, looking after patients with a wide range of Gastroenterological and nutrition problems. I perform various endoscopic procedures, including feeding tube insertions. I am the medical lead for the national Intestinal and Multivisceral Transplant service at CUH.
Previous history
I left my hometown of Belfast in Northern Ireland for University in Cambridge in 1998. My first job after graduating was in Addenbrooke’s and I stayed in the East of England for most of my Internal medicine and Gastroenterology training. After some research time and a fellowship in Advanced Nutrition and Intestinal Transplant at CUH I was appointed as a consultant in 2015.

- Cambridge representative to the NHSBT Multivisceral and Composite Tissue Advisory Group (MCTAG) since 2017
- Council member of the International Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplant Association (IRTA) since 2021
- National Nutrition training representative on the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) Training committee since 2018
