The CASEE team are doing all we can to continue to deliver our service amid the current situation with COVID-19. From the 6th April 2020, The CASEE team will be running at a reduced service while some members of the team are re-deployed, in the effort to support the delivery of care in Addenbrookes Hospital.
Non-urgent advice: Changes in service
We understand that how we deliver our service may be different to what we are all used to as we respond to COVID-19. However, we want to reassure all our clients, families, colleagues in local services and care providers, that we are committed to supporting you as best we can. Therefore, we would like to provide the following information and thank you for your understanding at this time.
Covid-19 and appointments
Due to restrictions, the CASEE team are currently providing most of our services remotely via Zoom. The team are completing some face to face visits if it is not possible to meet a client’s needs remotely, these visits are offered on a case by case basis and are not guaranteed. The team use appropriate protective equipment (face masks, visors, gloves etc.) and safety measures such as maintaining a 2 metre distance where possible, additional sanitising of hands and equipment and limiting the amount of the people in the room. Each face to face visit is risk assessed and the client and any other relevant people will be contacted to outline the risks, discuss consent for a face to face visit and explain all safety measures in advance.

Equipment faults and technical support
The CASEE team are available to support with any technical difficulties with the equipment we provide. If you are experiencing any difficulties with your equipment, please call us on 01223 349401 or email us: firstname.lastname@example.org. We may be able to help over the phone, but sometimes we may ask you to contact the product supplier for further support. You will find the suppliers contact details on your equipment loan form or as a sticker on your device. If you cannot find this information, please access useful links on our resources page or contact us. Please note, you may need to be connected to the internet to allow support to be provided remotely from the suppliers.
Visits and Support
At this moment, CASEE have temporarily suspended all face-to-face visiting. If you have already received a letter/appointment date, at this time, the CASEE team would have already contacted you about postponing this and we will contact you again when appropriate and safe to do so. However, as a team we remain to provide the following support:
We are able to offer trouble shooting, programming and technical support for devices that have been provided by us.
Remote assessment and support/training over telephone and/or video call.
We are answering all telephone/email correspondence to 01223 349 401. If we do not answer the telephone; you are able to leave a voicemail, which we are able to check and get back to you.
Sending equipment that we have set up for use/trial if assessed appropriate to do so by the CASEE team (This is considered on a case by case basis)
Providing resources at request to support immediate use and advice on how to use these.

We continue to provide training to AAC professionals in our region; we currently do all our training remotely via Zoom. Please see this link to view current training courses offered.
We encourage professionals to continue to send on referrals to the CASEE team, this will still be triaged by some of the members of the CASEE team, however please allow additional time for feedback.
In some cases where we accept your referral, we may postpone assessment until it is considered appropriate and safe to complete a face-to-face assessment.
